The Butterfly
Wellspring Chinguacousy’s symbol is the butterfly. That’s because we believe that more than any other living creature, a butterfly symbolizes a person’s journey with cancer.
Butterflies go through a life-changing experience. As caterpillars, they enter a cocoon for a period of time, and upon emerging they have new skills, and see the world from a higher perspective. Men and women touched by cancer go through a similar metamorphosis that gives them new strength and insights into life, hence the reason their profiles have been incorporated into the wings of our butterfly.
Annual Butterfly Campaign
Every April the Wellspring Chinguacousy Foundation executes a Butterfly Campaign to honor people touched by cancer. Each year a new butterfly design is created and in return for a donation, individuals can dedicate a butterfly which is displayed at the centre in the butterfly atrium for all to see.
