Lisa Kessler
Lisa was first introduced to the Wellspring concept by Wellspring’s founder, Anne Armstrong Gibson. Anne was Lisa’s peer support person when she was going through a bone marrow transplant of her own.
Lisa was present at Wellspring’s ribbon cutting, and has been involved ever since opening day.
Lisa has played many roles at Wellspring since its very early days, including front desk, peer support, group co-facilitator for the “I’m too Young” Support Group, outreach volunteer, and Program Committee member.
Bringing forward the personal perspective and experience of cancer, Lisa has always been instrumental in making a significant impact in each of these roles.
Lisa believes passionately in Wellspring’s work and is constantly reminded of the importance of paying attention to one’s wellness – she has been cancer-free for 20 years now, in spite of a poor initial prognosis.
Wellspring is incredibly grateful to Lisa for the contribution that she has made over 15 years, helping shape Wellspring into the organization that it is today.
