Centre of Innovation

Wellspring’s role, as Canada’s leader in community-based supportive cancer care, has become increasingly important in recent years.  With an estimated one in three Canadians who will be touched by cancer in their lifetimes, and an increasingly diverse and aging population, pressure on Canada’s health care system is at an all time high.

Setting a benchmark for excellence in the voluntary sector, Wellspring’s Centre of Innovation is responsible for fostering research and development into new approaches to community-based supportive cancer care.

In addition to the design, incubation and evaluation of new models, programs and educational resources, Wellspring’s Centre of Innovation is also working to improve healthcare system effectiveness through training and educating health care professionals, and assisting other community agencies through model sharing, advice and partnership.
