Gifts of Residual Interest

A gift of residual interest (GRI) allows you to donate an asset today and enjoy the use of it for life. A tax receipt is issued for the net present value of the property and can be used in the immediate tax year. GRIs can include real estate or other non-depreciating tangible assets, and are gratefully accepted in accordance with Wellspring policy.

Benefits of a Gift of Residual Interest

  • You can make a significant contribution to Wellspring today and continue to enjoy use of property or asset for life.
  • Gifts of residual interest can produce large lifetime tax savings. You will receive an income tax receipt for the net present value of the property that can be used to offset the taxes owing from other investments.
  • You can designate your gift to a Wellspring program or priority that meets your interests and be recognized in life, as a major donor to Wellspring.
