Endowment Funds

With a combination of forethought and generosity of spirit, many donors are helping to ensure long-term support for Wellspring and its members, present and future.

You can create a gift of lasting value by contributing to an endowment fund. Establishing or contributing to an endowment fund will ensure Wellspring has the funding it needs to provide excellence in community-based supportive care. It enables you to make a gift today that will have a tremendous impact on individuals and families living with cancer for years to come.

Benefits of Contributing to an Endowment Fund

  • An endowment fund leaves a lasting legacy as the original donation remains intact while the income generated from this capital is used to meet the ongoing needs of Wellspring programs and services.
  • Building an endowment will ensure that Wellspring has a stable source of funding for the leadership necessary to provide quality programs and services for individuals living with cancer and their families, now and in the future.
  • An endowment fund can be established in honour or in memory of a donor, family member or a loved one and can represent a lasting tribute, personal story or accomplishment.
  • Capital can be increased at any time by additional donations from the donor, family, or friends.

The Wellspring Endowment Fund is made up of the following:

  • The Wellspring Fund: a general fund made up of contributions from many donors, plus revenue directed to the Fund by Wellspring, from which interest is used for programs, operations, special projects or emergencies.  The minimum contribution to this Fund is $5,000.
  • The Wellspring Halton-Peel Endowment Fund: a fund made up of contributions from donors wishing to have the interest on their donation directed toward programs and operations at Wellspring Halton-Peel.  The minimum contribution to this Fund is $5,000.
  • Donor Named Funds: funds of $50,000 or greater, which are named in honour or memory of a donor, and for which income is tracked separately for purposes of reporting and stewardship
