Diana Saulez has been involved with Wellspring for many years, helping with fundraising efforts to open the Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House in Oakville. Once the centre opened, Diana was trained as one of the first few volunteers on the reception desk. “I knew that Wellspring would be a safe, welcoming and informing place where I could make somebody’s day a little bit brighter,” said Diana.
Cancer has impacted Diana’s life through the loss of her mother and many friends, giving her a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by the disease.
Like many Wellspring supporters, Diana is involved with Wellspring both as a volunteer and an annual donor. As the owner of Soleil Salon and Spa in Oakville, she makes a donation every holiday season to Wellspring on behalf of her clients instead of sending Christmas cards. She also donates services and products from Soleil for various Wellspring fundraising initiatives, knowing that every dollar donated has an important impact on the lives of people who attend Wellspring.
“I am privileged to make a difference in the lives of others, because I’m conscious of how much doing so contributes to my own journey.” In addition, says Diana, “I am grateful for the opportunities in my life; to those who much has been given comes the happy situation of giving back”.
When asked what makes Wellspring special, Diana said, “Wellspring is truly a place of wellness, a happy place where people can feel whole again and much more than a cancer patient. At the very heart of Wellspring it is the people: the staff, volunteers and members that combine to make it so special!”
Diana encourages others to consider becoming supporters of Wellspring. “Whether you can give gifts of time, talent, or treasure, your generosity will be put to work to enrich the lives of others.”
