Children’s and Parents’ Program
Wellspring offers a Children’s and Parents’ Program that brings parents and their children together for networking, the conversation about having cancer in the family, and tools to help cope and express feelings. This program is for families in which the parent has been diagnosed with cancer and the children are between the ages of 5 and 12.
Under the guidance of a professional leader the children learn that they are not alone in their feelings and worries. While the children participate in age-appropriate therapeutic play activities and conversations, the parents meet with a leader to discuss similar topics to help them continue conversations of support with their children while at home.
Please note: Children participating in this program must be between the ages of 5 and 12. For children under the age of 5, child minding services are available at the centre at no cost while the parents are participating in the program.
