Shikha, an immigrant to Canada in 2010, was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023.\u00a0 She recently received her final chemotherapy treatment and is on the road to recovery.\u00a0 Her journey has not been easy though \u2013 along the way she fell and broke her shoulder, turning a difficult cancer diagnosis into an even bigger challenge.<\/p>\n
Her silver lining is that she has been surrounded by her loving family along the way:\u00a0 her husband Bhardwaj, children Riddhi and Arya, and parents Bharat and Yeena, along with other close family members. Bhardwaj\u2019s parents made a special trip from India to be part of Shikha\u2019s care team. The love and compassion from her family has made a huge difference in her path back to good health.<\/p>\n
Family members cooked meals, cared for the children, drove her to medical appointments and helped with tasks Shikha couldn\u2019t do because of her injury and illness.\u00a0 Together, they are a beautiful family and her true heroes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
