28 Cyclists complete 7-day, 24 hour relay cycling event from Oakville, ON to Miami, FL
Twenty-eight cyclists recently completed the Wellspring Peloton Challenge, an epic 7-day, 24-hour cycling event that began in Oakville, ON and ended in Miami, FL (over 3,000 km). The event raised $575,000 for Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. A large crowd of family members and friends of the cyclists greeted them upon completion of the ride in Miami, along with a group of Wellspring Warriors who served as inspiration for the cyclists throughout their journey. Each Warrior is an individual who is currently facing cancer or who has had a cancer experience in their past. All cyclists participating in the ride were challenged with raising a minimum $10,000, and many exceeded their fundraising goal.
Since its inception in 2012, the Wellspring Ride for Cancer Support has raised over $2.4 million to help Wellspring continue to provide the highest quality cancer support programs, led by accredited professionals, without cost to the individual or family member living with cancer.
In addition to the Peloton Challenge ride to Miami, an additional group of 42 cyclists completed the Wellspring Peloton Experience, a 1-day, 60 K and 110 K cycling event through southern Ontario, raising over $25,000 for Wellspring
Wellspring is grateful for all the support from its Peloton Challenge sponsors and donors including, Birch Hill Equity Partners, BMO Capital Markets, Fulcrum Capital Partners and peloton supporter Toronto Foundation.
