Machine Thread Painting
Program Lead: Brenda Boychuk
Join us to learn how to create a picture with fabric and embellish it using thread. We will learn how to stitch down the fabric design onto the background and use thread to add dimension to the design.
If you have a sewing machine that has been hiding in the back of the closet or somewhere in the basement, now is the time to find it! We will go over the basics of using a sewing machine and how to set it up for applique.
Please bring a sewing machine, sharp scissors (for cutting small pieces of fabric), sewing machine needles (preferably Schmetz Universal or Microtex), an empty bobbin, and thread snips.
This program allows Wellspring members to express themselves artistically while bonding with other members. Working with fabric gives members a chance to focus on their creative instincts, which usually creates space from day-to-day stress. Previous classes have produced obvious bonds between members that did not exist at the beginning of the program.
Participants need to bring:
- A sewing machine
- Sharp scissors (for cutting small pieces of fabric)
- Sewing machine needles (preferably Schmetz Universal or Microtex)
- An empty bobbin
- Thread snips
This class is being offered to help attendees prepare for working on the quilt that we will be creating in the New Year
Registration or Appointment Required: This program requires a commitment to attend all sessions.
