Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Cancer Recovery

MBSR-CR was created by leading psychologists specializing in oncology and is based on the original MBSR program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, University of Massachusetts Medical School. This 8 week informal group program will provide a safe space to discover and experience various stress reduction techniques designed to teach you how to self-regulate your arousal to the daily stressors you encounter. The goal of this program is to teach you to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and how they impact stress. This process happens by cultivating awareness of the present moment in an open and non-judgemental manner. With regular attendance and practice you will learn to let go of anxieties and worries and focus on wellbeing.
Please note: Attendance at the first two classes is required in order to learn the main principles of mindfulness which are the framework of the whole program.
You will benefit from this program most through daily practice of 10 -30 minutes.

Registered Programs with Home Practice: A commitment to attend all session is required, as is a commitment to home practice.
