Urban Poling (Nordic Walking)

Urban poling (also known as Nordic walking)—think cross-country skiing without the skis – is a fun social walking activity with friends. It tones your abs (your abs contract each time you press down on the ergonomic handles). It keeps knees and hips pain-free, sculps and strengthens your upper body, arms and shoulders, helps balance your blood sugar, and improves posture to help you straighten up and feel more relaxed and confident. It is rejuvenating and energizing for everyone of all fitness levels. Everyone can find their own pace and intensity just by pressing down on the ergonomic handles with more or less intensity and adjusting their walking speed. Best of all, it is an amazing stress buster – the smooth rhythmic action provides a distraction from everyday concerns and lifts your mood. Poles are provided – all you need to do is show up!

Join a Certified Instructor to participate in this Restorative Movement program.

Members can expect to feel refreshed as they participate at their own pace and what is most comfortable for them.  Equipment is provided.

Members must complete the 2018 version of the PAR-Q+ form min. three days prior to the class.
