Program Assistant (Oakville)

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is seeking a Program Assistant at Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House in Oakville.  This is a part-time position for approximately 14-16 hours per week. The schedule is negotiable. This position is located onsite at Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House, 2545 Sixth Line, Oakville, Ontario.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the successful candidate will provide a variety of types of administrative and program support for Wellspring’s Mission team and will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people living with cancer.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Very high degree of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience in an administrative or reception role
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Administrative support in various areas such as coordinating peer support appointments, preparing rooms for programs, and data entry
  2. Assistance with the coordination of volunteer resources
  3. Assistance with the set-up of rooms as needed
  4. Customer service, including telephone, email, and in person (training provided)
  5. Participation in, and encouragement of, Wellspring’s growing culture of philanthropy
