Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North\u2014Burlington. \u201cThis $21,900 grant from OTF is going a long way to making their free, supportive cancer care programs accessible to everyone who needs them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the OTF Capital grant, four of the doors at Wellspring\u2019s Birmingham Gilgan House, including the main entrance to the building, have now been repaired and upgraded with improved accessibility buttons. These doors had all previously experienced functionality difficulties and were due for an upgrade\u2014a costly but important project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis donation will increase accessibility for Halton-Peel residents living with cancer, ensuring they feel safe and supported when attending our critical in-person cancer support programs,\u201d said Christina Smith, Wellspring\u2019s CEO. \u201cWellspring has seen a rise in cancer patients and their families visiting Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House. This further necessitates the need to ensure that our accessible door openers are fully and reliably operational.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wellspring, which helps individuals and families live better with cancer through support services and programming, has been a pillar in the community since its founding in 1992. Wellspring receives no ongoing government or hospital funding and relies solely on the generosity of individuals and organizations like the Ontario Trillium Foundation to function.<\/p>\n<p>Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is a charity that helps people live better with cancer. Through its nationwide online platform and in-person locations in Oakville and Toronto, Wellspring offers over 50 evidence-based programs covering the emotional, physical, and practical challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Wellspring\u2019s services are free of charge without a medical referral. If you or your loved one has cancer, you need Wellspring.
