To mark the completion of this important project, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on the grounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m pleased that our government, through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, is providing a $63,600 grant to Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House to improve safety and accessibility for people living with cancer and their families,\u201d said Effie Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North\u2013Burlington. \u201cWellspring offers vital programs and compassionate support that make a real difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. This investment ensures that everyone in our community can access these important services in a safe, welcoming, and barrier-free environment.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the repaving at Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House now complete, the centre is more accessible to those with mobility or visual impairments, severe fatigue, or other cancer-related symptoms, as well as families with strollers. The outdoor space also supports Wellspring\u2019s children\u2019s programs and summer events, which provide a fun, supportive environment for young people living with cancer and their families.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for this investment in accessibility and safety,\u201d said Susy Borges, Associate Director of Mission Operations for Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation. \u201cThis grant ensures that individuals living with cancer and their families can arrive safely and comfortably, removing barriers to the free programs and services that Wellspring provides.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wellspring\u2019s Birmingham Gilgan House, located in Oakville, provides free-of-charge programs that help people living with cancer overcome the many emotional, physical, and practical challenges that often come with a cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n
