In May 2021, Carly collaborated with Wellspring to adapt and pilot a group-based program that explored the complex relationship between cancer and body image. The pilot revealed meaningful outcomes: participants reported reduced body image distress and improvements in appearance evaluation, self-worth, self-compassion, and appreciation for what their bodies could do.<\/p>\n<p>Results of this pilot,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC11894819\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">now published in a peer-reviewed journal<\/a>, highlight the program\u2019s impact.<\/p>\n<p>Based on this success, Wellspring is excited to offer the\u00a0Body Image Awareness Seminar (BIAS).<\/p>\n<p>Weekly Topics Include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction to body image<\/li>\n<li>Myths and truths about body image &amp; an introduction to positive body image<\/li>\n<li>Social influences on body image<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Individual differences in body image<\/li>\n<li>Respecting the body<\/li>\n<li>Program wrap-up and reflection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whether you\u2019re newly diagnosed, in treatment, or post-treatment, this program provides a safe and encouraging space to explore and improve your relationship with your body.<\/p>\n<p>Interested in joining?<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.wellspring.ca\/service\/a1dON000003W8vEYAS\/body-image-awareness-seminar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Learn more or register here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wellspring is proud to introduce a new six-week program: Body Image Awareness Seminar (BIAS) \u2013 a supportive group experience designed to help individuals living with cancer develop a healthier and more compassionate relationship with their bodies.
