TORONTO, ON, August 27, 2026 \u2013 Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation (Wellspring) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Charles, President and CEO of Canada Guaranty, to its Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
Mr. Charles has led Canada Guaranty since 2005 and brings decades of executive leadership experience, strategic insight, and a longstanding commitment to Wellspring’s mission of providing programs and support for people living with cancer and their caregivers.<\/p>\n
He joins Wellspring at a pivotal moment for cancer care and support in Canada. Today, nearly half of all Canadians are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, while one in four will die from the disease. More than 247,000 Canadians are expected to receive a cancer diagnosis this year alone, placing unprecedented pressure on patients, families, caregivers, and the healthcare system.<\/p>\n
Mr. Charles has a long relationship with Wellspring. His late wife, Marie Charles, was a Wellspring member and walked the runway as a model in Wellspring’s Well Dressed for Spring Fashion Show in 2019. After her passing in 2022 from pancreatic cancer, their children \u2013 Brenna, Mitchell, and Victoria \u2013 participated in the 2023 fashion show in her memory. Their daughter, Brenna Charles, has also served for several years on the Well Dressed for Spring Committee, continuing the family’s deep engagement with the organization.<\/p>\n
The Charles family and Canada Guaranty have been dedicated supporters of Wellspring, including sponsors of the fashion show\u2019s Walk of Hope catwalk, helping create meaningful experiences for participants and supporters alike.<\/p>\n
“Andy has been part of the Wellspring community for many years, and his commitment has always been deeply personal,” said Matt Barasch, Chair of Wellspring’s Board of Directors. “He understands firsthand the impact Wellspring can have on individuals and families facing cancer.
