Major Gifts Officer

Exceptional opportunity to work with a highly committed and talented Fundraising team to make a significant difference for people living with Cancer!

Wellspring is a Canada-wide non-profit organization consisting of a network of community-based centres, each offering programs and services, at no charge and without referral, to anyone, with any type of cancer, at any stage in their journey. Wellspring charges no fees and receives no core government funding. Programs and operations are made possible only through the generosity of donors and funds raised through donations, sponsorships, and special events.

As a member of this gifted fundraising team, you will help to set and meet major gift ($10,000+) targets; qualify, cultivate and solicit donors; help build and maintain the donor pipeline, including database tracking; write letters of intent and proposals; prepare packages, presentations, etc.; liaise with potential donors to identify alignments and targeted approaches for support; research prospective major gift donors; cultivate and steward major donors.

The location for this position is either Westerkirk House at Sunnybrook, Toronto (105 Wellness Way, Toronto, Ontario M4N 0B1) or Birmingham Gilgan House, Oakville (2545 Sixth Line, Oakville, ON L6H 7V9). If desired, you can work from home two days a week.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in fundraising with a minimum of 2 years working with major gift donors
• Demonstrated effectiveness in building, nurturing, and leveraging strong relationships with donors
• Demonstrated commitment to accountability, measuring outcomes in a results-oriented culture
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
