Program Manager, Oakville, Ontario

Full-time contract

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is seeking a Program Manager to become a vital part of our dynamic team. This is a full-time contract position that will run from mid-October (start date negotiable) until February 2026. This position is primarily located at 2545 Sixth Line in Oakville, and the successful candidate may choose to work 2 days at home most weeks.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit setting, preferably related to health and/or wellness
  • University degree in social work, social services, health administration, child life, or a related field
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • High degree of organization, with very good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Key Areas of Responsibility

  1. Management of designated programs including:
    a. recruitment of and succession planning for professional and volunteer program leadership
    b. monitoring program performance and addressing concerns as they arise
    c. strategic planning for growth and identification of gaps in programming
    d. new program development
    e. managing stakeholder relations with partnered programs
    f. program leadership where relevant
  2. Coordination of designated programs including:
    a. Scheduling of professional leaders and volunteers
    b. leader mentoring and support
    c. acquisition of required supplies and equipment
    d. virtual hosting and oversight of data collection
  3. Supervision and mentorship of the Centre Coordinator
  4. Participation and contribution as an integral part of the Mission Delivery staff team
  5. Participation in, and encouragement of, Wellspring’s growing culture of philanthropy
