Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation was founded in Toronto in 1992 by Anne Armstrong Gibson, who had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1988. Along with all her other fears about treatment, survival and the future of her husband and two young children, Anne experienced something more, an overwhelming sense of isolation. She quickly realized that this was an all-too-common experience among cancer patients, and became determined to fill the void.<\/p>

With the help and encouragement of some of the leading experts in the field of oncology, Anne worked with family, friends and supporters to establish Wellspring, a charity offering psychological, emotional, social, spiritual and informational support to individuals and families living with cancer.\u00a0 Anne\u2019s vision for Wellspring was to create a Canada-wide network of community-based centres that would provide people with the tools they required to cope with cancer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Wellspring London & Region is part of a network of centres and provides programs online and at locations in London and Stratford. Wellspring London & Region  participates in regular and rigorous external evaluations to ensure all staff, volunteers and Program Leaders are fulfilling their commitments to the Wellspring brand in delivering high quality, evidence-informed programs and services for people living with cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wellspring London & Region was launched in 1999 by the WCA, a London-based human services charitable organization established in 1874. Under the guidance of the WCA, London house developed into a stand along organization in 2011, marked by the development of an independent board and the collaboration with the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Stratford House first opened its doors in October 2006 under the auspices of Wellspring London & Region. Initially supported financially by the Quilt Project, Stratford House has grown to serve the Perth Huron community. Operated by the Stratford Steering Committee, Stratford House offers a warm and supportive gathering place for individuals living with cancer and those who care for them.<\/p>\n

Wellspring London & Region is a registered charitable organization that relies entirely on donations from generous individuals, foundations, sponsors and corporations to sustain its programs and services. Wellspring receives no core government or hospital funding. The charitable registration number for Wellspring London & Region is 86424 6129 RR0001.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
