This is about more than programs\u2014it\u2019s about connection, dignity, and community.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Frances LeBlanc, Friends Foundation President and CEO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Haven for Healing: Wellspring Bannon House<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Located on 166 MacBeath Avenue near The Moncton Hospital, Wellspring\u00a0<strong>Bannon House<\/strong>\u00a0was generously gifted to the Friends Foundation by Sheila Bannon. Transformed into a welcoming and supportive space, Wellspring Bannon House will be a dedicated hub where individuals affected by cancer can gather, connect with peers, build resilience, and access vital programs designed to improve quality of life throughout the cancer journey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor over 30 years, Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation has provided evidence-based programs across Canada. We are proud to welcome New Brunswick as our newest affiliate and to see the reach of this support expand to Atlantic Canadians,\u201d says\u00a0<strong>Christina Smith, CEO Wellspring Canada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comprehensive Programs \u2013 At No Cost, No Referral Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellspring Cancer Support has established and continues to advance a supportive care model designed to meet the mental health, rehabilitative, emotional, and educational needs of those affected by cancer. Through Wellspring New Brunswick, this proven model will now be accessible across the province.<\/p>\n<p>Programs are available both in person at Wellspring Bannon House and through online delivery, ensuring accessibility for all New Brunswickers. Early program offerings include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Relaxation &amp; Visualization<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Peer Support (Individual &amp; Group)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Gentle Yoga<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Nourish (nutrition-focused, dietitian-led program)<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Cancer-Related Fatigue<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Exercise<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Brain Fog<\/p>\n<p>Wellspring\u2019s full suite includes more than 50 evidence-based programs, many of which will soon be available locally, including supports for caregivers, parents, and children. French-language programs will also be offered at the Mgr. Henri-Cormier Lodge at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.<\/p>\n<p>All programs are led by qualified health care professionals such as registered dietitians, social workers, nurses, and kinesiologists, ensuring safe and effective delivery tailored to the needs of participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Community Effort, Powered by Volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Volunteers are at the heart of Wellspring New Brunswick. To date, 15 trained peer support volunteers\u2014with lived experience as cancer patients or caregivers\u2014are ready to provide one-on-one support, help facilitate programs, and welcome members at Bannon House<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funded by Community Generosity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wellspring New Brunswick will be\u00a0<strong>100% funded through the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation and the CHU Dumont Foundation<\/strong>. Together, these organizations are committed to ensuring no one in New Brunswick faces cancer alone.<\/p>\n<p>We are especially grateful to the\u00a0<strong>Medavie Foundation\u00a0<\/strong>for their remarkable generosity, providing our largest donation of $500,000. This extraordinary gift will strengthen care in our community and ensure that those living with cancer and their families have access to the support they need\u2014today and for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Medavie, we\u2019re honoured to support the opening of Wellspring Bannon House and the launch of Wellspring New Brunswick. This centre will be a place of comfort, connection, and care for cancer patients and their families.
