Meet Nate and his mom, Wendy. Nate began visiting Wellspring Niagara when he started his cancer treatment at the age of 7. He participated in regular play therapy and counselling sessions, which helped him prepare for and cope with his treatments and hospital visits. These sessions also supported his recovery. Wendy and Nate’s sister also attended sessions, supporting the entire family during this tough time. Outside of his hospital visits and the numerous needle pricks he had to endure, Wellspring Niagara became a safe and fun place for Nate. Now, at 14 years old, he is healthy and relishing his teenage years!
“Now that you have been here, you can see how fun it is, and then you want to keep coming here and try to help this place grow so more people can come and have fun.” – Nate, Wellspring Niagara Member
Our Light Up Wellspring Niagara holiday campaign is an excellent opportunity to thank our donors each year. Your past contributions have been invaluable, allowing us to assist over 1,100 individuals seeking help at Wellspring Niagara. Your support has made a real difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are deeply grateful for it.
At Wellspring Niagara, we are dedicated to supporting and developing new programs for children, youth, and the parents/caregivers of young individuals with cancer in the Niagara region. No one should face this diagnosis alone. Wellspring offers free help, programs, and therapy for everyone in need.
Cancer significantly impacts many individuals in the Niagara Region, and we aim to foster a supportive community where everyone feels understood and cared for. Your contribution is crucial in highlighting the importance of cancer support. There is a high demand for children’s programs and family support. We invite you to consider donating to our Light Up Wellspring campaign to help us expand our programs and continue to meet the growing needs of men, women, and especially children who are living with cancer and their families.
