Also known as ‘chemo-brain’, Brain Fog is the common term for changes in cognition (thinking) that often results from cancer and its treatments. Many cancer patients experience decreased memory, shorter attention spans, difficulty solving problems and a reduced ability to multi-task. Brain Fog is an educational program that teaches ways to improve cognitive functioning. Under the direction of an experienced professional leader, participants meet with others who are experiencing similar difficulties and learn proven strategies that can be adapted to individual needs. This program was developed by Maximum Capacity. Wellspring facilitators have completed extensive training through Maximum Capacity to facilitate this program.
Note:This program is offered online so that you can access it from the comfort and privacy of your home. You will need a PC or laptop, or tablet, with a camera and microphone. Home practice is required, along with a commitment to attend all sessions.
The Healing Journey

The Healing Journey is one of Wellspring’s most popular programs, designed for people who want to learn how to help themselves when they have cancer. It is a practical course, providing simple, yet effective and proven psychological and spiritual tools that promote inner harmony, peace and healing. Both patients and their caregivers are welcome to attend, but everyone must start with Level 1.
Also known as guided imagery, this program provides a relaxing and peaceful experience that can improve one’s sense of well-being, reduce stress and provide skills to help cope with a cancer diagnosis. This program is a good starting place for new members. As well as being introduced to others as a support group and networking opportunity, you will learn various coping strategies. Relaxation and Visualization is led by a professional program leader who leads the group in guided mediation followed by a guided imagery session and a group discussion.
Returning to Work
This six-week educational and support program is designed to help cancer patients achieve a successful and sustained return to work following an absence due to cancer. Under the leadership of a professional program leader, topics include readiness to work, need for accommodation by your employer, treatment side-effects that may impact job performance, and how to get ready for the return.
Note: This program is offered online so that you can access it from the comfort and privacy of your home. You will need a PC or laptop, or tablet, with a camera and microphone. Registration is required, and only cancer patients who are preparing to return to work should participate. Home practice is required, along with a commitment to attend all six session.

Nutrition is important at any stage of the cancer journey. Wellspring’s Nourish program provides different sessions on cancer and nutrition using latest research to teach the fundamentals of good nutritional practices for cancer patients. The sessions include cooking demonstrations, food sampling and take-home recipes. If you, or someone you are caring for is experiencing side-effects that make eating difficult, or want to know how healthy eating can aid in cancer recovery and reduce the risk of cancer returning, then please join these sessions.
