About Us
Community-based cancer support
Wellspring is a network of community-based support centres that provide support for people living with cancer.
Each Wellspring centre is a separate legal entity, responsible for its own governance and funding and for program offerings that are tailed to the unique needs of the local community. The three centres in the Greater Toronto area (Wellspring Downtown Toronto, Wellspring Westerkirk House, and Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House) are governed by one Board of Directors. Other Ontario Wellspring centres are located in Niagara, London, and Brampton. Other Alberta Wellspring centres are located in Calgary and Edmonton
All Wellspring centres adhere to Wellspring’s values, model, and quality review processes.
Wellspring charges no user fees, and requires no medical referral. Programs and services are available free of charge, on both a drop-in and registered basis, for anyone living with cancer, at any stage.
Each year, Wellspring centres in the Greater Toronto Area help more than 5,000 people overcome the many challenges that follow a cancer diagnosis. yet, Wellspring receives no government or hospital funding. It is the generosity of donors and grateful members that enables all Wellspring programs to be provided at no charge. Any support you can provide would be gratefully appreciated.
