My name is Laura Isidean, Board Chair for Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
I want to share with you my story, as well as a unique opportunity.
In 2014, after nearly two decades of working in capital markets, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During this extremely difficult time, I turned to Wellspring. Having a warm and supportive place where I could access programs and services while I was undergoing treatment proved to be an integral part of my recovery.
Once I was well enough, I was committed to giving back to Wellspring as it had helped my family and me so much. I joined the Wellspring Board five years ago and became Chair in 2021.
And now I want to get involved by supporting this match campaign:
From now until October 31, I will provide a matching pledge of $30,000 in honour of Wellspring’s 30th anniversary. That means that for every dollar you donate during this time, I will provide a matching dollar.
As a member of the Wellspring family, you know first-hand how profoundly important it is to have emotional, social, physical and practical supports during the difficult days of cancer. You understand that belonging to a community that offers compassion, understanding, and empowering resources, can make all the difference in the world.
