Well on the Web is an extension of the programs available in the Wellspring Centres across the country, enabling those who live far from a physical centres, or those not well enough to leave their homes, with access to Wellspring’s special brand of care and support.

This gentle style of yoga is for patients who are in the process of regaining their general health and wellness, as well as for those who are experiencing significant adverse physical symptoms that require a modified approach. Wellspring Yoga is designed to provide a fulfilling yoga experience while also transferring skills and techniques to support self-managed yoga practice outside of Wellspring. The program includes demonstration of various yoga poses that use meditation and breathing techniques and participants follow along only to the extent they are able.

Nutrition is important at any stage of the cancer journey. Wellspring’s Nourish program provides many different sessions on cancer and nutrition using latest research to teach the fundamentals of good nutritional practices for cancer patients and, in many instances, includes cooking demonstrations, food sampling and take-home recipes. If you, or someone you are caring for is experiencing side-effects of treatment that make eating difficult, or want to know more about how healthy eating can aid in cancer recovery and reduce the risk of cancer coming back, then these sessions are for you.

Relaxation and Visualization

Also known as guided imagery, this program provides a relaxing and peaceful experience that can improve one’s sense of well-being, reduce stress and provide skills to help cope with a cancer diagnosis. This program is a good starting place for new members. As well as being introduced to others as a support group and networking opportunity, you will learn various coping strategies. Relaxation and Visualization is led by a professional program leader who leads the group in guided mediation followed by a guided imagery session and a group discussion.

The Healing Journey Level 1

This is the introductory level of the Healing Journey Program, available to both cancer patients and their caregivers. This level teaches participants about the benefits of helping themselves through supportive care, and provides an introduction to stress management techniques such as deep relaxation, healthy thought management, visualization, expression of emotions and goal setting.

Level 1 meets once a week for four weeks, and each session is 90 minutes.
