Well on the Web is an extension of the programs available in the Wellspring Centres across the country, enabling those who live far from a physical centres, or those not well enough to leave their homes, with access to Wellspring’s special brand of care and support.

Online Programs

These programs are offered online to residents of Prince Edward Island. You will need a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet, with a camera and microphone. Home practice is required, along with a commitment to attend all sessions.

Also known as ‘chemo-brain’, Brain Fog is the common term for changes in cognition (thinking) that often results from cancer and its treatments. Many cancer patients experience decreased memory, shorter attention spans, difficulty solving problems and a reduced ability to multi-task. Brain Fog is an educational program that teaches ways to improve cognitive functioning. Under the direction of an experienced professional leader, participants meet with others who are experiencing similar difficulties and learn proven strategies that can be adapted to individual needs.

This is a six-week educational and support program designed to help cancer patients achieve a successful and sustained return to work following an absence due to cancer. Under the leadership of a professional program leader, topics include readiness to work, need for accommodation by your employer, treatment side-effects that may impact job performance, and how to get ready for the return.

Many people who are back at work may feel detached or separate from the cancer world, yet cancer is still very much a part of their life. You might be having trouble letting go of cancer, or feel like you are still processing that journey. This session will help you move beyond your cancer if you are feeling stuck. It will help you identify how your cancer journey may be impacting our work like and will offer helpful strategies to reduce your focus on cancer.

It is well known that stress can influence our health and ability to cope. For many cancer patients, their diagnosis and treatment was likely a period of time that includes great stress. Returning to work and being back at work can be an equally stressful time. Ongoing stress at work can reduce our ability to perform well and to deal effectively with workplace demands and conflicts. This session will provide helpful strategies for managing stress at work.

Please Note: Only those who have already transitioned back into the workplace following an illness should participate in the Back at Work sessions.
