COVID-19 Update

Wellspring London & Stratford: Update on COVID–19

December 15, 2021

Dear Wellspring Family,

As we close out 2021, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for the incredible contributions that you have made to Wellspring this past year. For those of you who have not had the chance to take a look at our first annual report, we would encourage you to take a peek and see what we have been up to despite our physical doors being closed!

Research was another focus of conversation – we have two research projects that we are currently involved in and are looking for Wellspring participants to become actively involved with. The first study is called Experiences of Hope in Human Services and is done in partnership with Humber College. This study is a survey/questionnaire that explores what hope means to people. Wellspring is the only cancer based organization within this national study, so I am hopeful that we will see some participation to represent our population. Your experience can be about anything that you relate hope to. Please visit www.shareyourstories.ca

The second research study is being done by Tracey Jones, Executive Director of Wellspring London and Region. It is called Understanding the Volunteer Experience in a Cancer Based Organization. This is a short anonymous survey designed to understand your volunteer experience with Wellspring and what we can do to keep you! This is completely confidential – we know that we have a group of dedicated volunteers who have been with us for a very long time and we want to learn more to better understand training, recruitment and supports that need to be in place to ensure we meet the needs of our volunteers. More information will be provided about this study mid – January! We hope to have as many as our volunteers as possible complete the survey!

Fundraising – we are in the middle of our Light Up Wellspring Campaign in both London and Stratford and we need your help! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far – please share our link with as many people as possible who may want to honour a loved one through a virtual candle! Please click here to donate to London and click here to donate to Stratford

Re-opening is not happening in the way we thought, unfortunately. We were preparing to open our doors again on January 3rd, however the news regarding the significant increases in COVID cases has forced us to make the decision to remain closed for the time being. We will be notifying our community on February 1st as to what our plans are once we can assess the situation a bit more clearly. We are sorry to have to remain closed to the public, but the health and well-being of our members, volunteers and our staff is our top priority.

On behalf of all of us at Wellspring London and Region (London and Stratford sites) we want to say have a safe and happy holiday season. We wish for health, happiness and love for 2022!

Warm hugs,

Tracey Jones
