Children’s and Parents’ Program
The Children’s and Parents’ Program brings parents and their children together for family time, for a conversation about having cancer in the family, and learn tools to help the children understand more about cancer and express how they are feeling.
This is a six-week program that meets weekly. Two professional leaders lead the program. One meets separately with the children and guides them through various fun and age-appropriate communications and therapeutic activities. This also gives the children the opportunity to meet others in similar situations and learn that they are not alone in what they are experiencing.
While the children are together, the parents meet separately with a different counsellor to discuss similar topics and learn how to continue the conversations and support their children while at home.
Please Note: This program is also available online. If you would prefer to register for this as a virtual program, please visit Well on the Web.
