Laryngectomy Support and Information Group
Living with a laryngectomy is a unique cancer experience. Communication, nutrition, social environments and recreation can be profoundly impacted. The Laryngectomy Support Group at Wellspring is a program that provides a community for patients who have had a laryngectomy and/or their caregivers, to meet with one another. In a safe and confidential setting, members may share their stories and explore the many emotional, social and practical challenges of coping with a laryngectomy. Occasionally, special guest experts are invited to speak with the group on select topics of interest. This group meets once a month, and each session is two hours in length.
This program takes place at Wellspring Westerkirk House, located on the grounds of Sunnybrook Hosptial.
Drop-In Program: This program requires no ongoing commitment and is especially helpful for those who are not feeling well, are in treatment or are coping with symptoms that make commitment difficult.
