Wellness Workshop: An Introduction to Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based program exploring the links between your life, your experiences with cancer, and the thoughts, emotions and behaviors arising from those experiences. We observe our coping patterns, assumptions, and reactions, and develop new perspectives and skills for responding to difficulty in our lives. The goal is to live a richer and more meaningful life, one that isn’t lost in past events or fears for a future that hasn’t arrived yet.
These introductory workshops, based on the MBCT program, are designed for anyone struggling with a cancer diagnosis, experiencing treatment, or coping with the aftermath. You will explore your experiences with guided meditation, gentle movements, cognitive/thinking exercises, poetry and stories, and supported discussion. Each workshop will be standalone, and you can come to one session or all of them.
This program is provided in-person at Wellspring Westerkirk House, 105 Wellness Way, Toronto, Ontario. Registration is required.
Class sizes for in-person programs are limited. If after registering you find you are unable to attend this series, please cancel your registration to allow others to attend.
