Skills and Strategies Workshop: Drumming

Group drumming is an exciting, universal and ancient way to connect with others, reduce stress, get some exercise, explore music making and creative self-expression, experience camaraderie and create community. Come and relax as you learn how to hand drum in a fun environment. Experience deep connection as you heal your body and mind. Build your confidence as you move beyond your perceived limitations. Feel the benefits first-hand from group empowerment drumming through the HealthRHYTHMS protocol, which is not only fun and stress relieving but it empowers participants to express themselves more effectively in a safe and mutually-supportive environment. The drum plays a unique role in enabling and empowering people of all ages and ability to experience the health benefits of hand drumming and recreational music making. The HealthRHYTHMS protocol is an evidence-based program that has been clinically proven to measurably lower stress hormones and improve immune function. All percussion instruments will be supplied or feel free to bring your own, if you wish. No experience is necessary. Registration is required, with a commitment to attend the group once a week for 4 weeks.
