Wellspring New Brunswick is a charitable organization that supports, informs, and empowers those diagnosed with cancer by helping them address the fear, isolation, disruption and practical problems cancer can bring to their lives. An affiliate of the Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation, Wellspring New Brunswick provides a comprehensive range of programs, support and resources, so anyone living with cancer and the people who care about them can improve the quality of their lives. All programs and services are evidence-informed and offered at no charge and without referral at Wellspring Bannon House and online. Our vision is that no one has to face cancer alone.

Wellspring New Brunswick’s Program Leader team is a team of highly skilled professionals with big hearts. Wellspring New Brunswick offers over 70 evidence-informed programs. Each program is unique and requires a different skill set.
The Opportunity:
Natural energy programs can offer gentle, soothing approaches that promote well-being and relaxation. The aim of Reiki and Therapeutic Touch is to restore the body’s natural and healthy flow of energy, thereby enhancing relaxation and for some an improved sense of well-being.
Reporting to the Director and working closely with the program team, the contracted Program Leader is responsible for the leadership of the program.
Wellspring New Brunswick is hiring this position for Wellspring Bannon House.
Responsibilities:
Provide participants with Reiki or Therapeutic Touch in keeping with Wellspring’s philosophy and a supportive care framework listen with empathy and compassion to the circumstances and experiences of participants who wish to speak about them refer participants to other programs or services which may help meet needs of participants expressed during adjunctive service appointments.
Please note that:
· Wellspring does not allow energy practitioners to solicit participants in any way
· Wellspring recommends that all energy practitioners acquire their own personal liability insurance
· Energy volunteers will be asked to sign a service agreement letter
· Wellspring does not allow energy practitioners to disclose any intuitive feelings that may come out of the session to participants.
Required knowledge and skills:
· be at least 18 years of age
· provide an acceptable Police Record check including a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to their first shift
· provide a copy of the certification to Wellspring.
· have provided a minimum of 25 appointments in community since certification
· for Reiki, have a Level 3 certification and for Therapeutic touch
· be available to deliver the energy service during regular operating hours.
· Fluency in both English and French (written and verbal) is an asset
