Michelina, a courageous member of Wellspring Chinguacousy, has faced an incredible journey of resilience and strength. Diagnosed with different cancers in 2020, 2022 and 2023, she has persevered through these challenges, finding solace and support from her heroes.
Her mom, Lina, has been a steadfast source of comfort and care. “Moms have a special way of taking care of you, even when you are an adult,” Michelina says with a warm smile. “She would go to the end of the world to make you well.”
Michelina’s sister, Sandra, has been by her side every step of the way. “When my mind goes down the wrong path, Sandra is there. She is positive, encouraging, and pushes me forward,” Michelina reflects. “And most importantly, she makes me laugh.”
Beyond her immediate family, Michelina has many heroes—too many to mention—who are always there for her. “They were there at the right time and right place,” she says. “A phone call when I needed to talk, breakfast/lunch/dinner dates, a day at the spa, my longtime friend from Sudbury who would come down once a month (or more often), just because, and my family in Italy who would call or text when I was down in the dumps”
Through the unwavering love and support of Lina, Sandra, and her extended circle of heroes, Michelina finds the strength to face each day with courage and hope. Their presence in her life is a testament to the power of family and the incredible bonds that help us navigate even the toughest of times.
