When Lyn was diagnosed with stage three invasive cancer in 2024, life quickly became filled with uncertainty. She went through chemotherapy, a mastectomy and reconstruction, and is now over a year cancer-free.
She remembers the beginning of her journey as lonely and scary. There was so much she didn’t know and so much to navigate.
Then she walked into Wellspring.
Lyn describes that first experience as feeling like she was getting a big hug. Over time, the centre became another home. Wellspring helped her learn to give herself grace on difficult days, communicate better with her family and appreciate things around her differently.
Connecting with other moms also gave her new perspectives, particularly when navigating life with her children during and after cancer.
Today, she describes that sense of belonging simply:
“Wellspring has become my new village and my new tribe.”
For Lyn, Wellspring is more than somewhere she attends programs. It’s a community she knows she can turn to.
