Be Involved in your Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment

This is the 4th of a 4-part webinar series offered in partnership with the Ontario Molecular Pathology Research Network (OMPRN). It is aimed at providing interactive, accessible, and informative sessions that will enhance patient understanding of complex medical topics. From breaking down how metastasis occurs, what a biopsy is, how to interpret key sections in a clinical report, and how different medical professionals can play a part in your care, this webinar series will guide you through how understanding molecular pathology can help you be better equipped to understand your care.

This webinar will:

  • Highlight the importance of patients being active participants in their cancer care, what it means and how to achieve this
  • Introduce medical professionals they can encounter during their cancer diagnosis and treatment, and how each medical professional plays a role.
  • Highlight the importance of patient partners, and how clinicians value their involvement in research.
  • Provide some examples of how patient partnership plays a role in a clinician’s day to day.

Facilitators: Karen Haas & Terry Hawrysh, Patient Partners & Steering Committee Members, OMPRN
