The way we speak to ourselves—especially in times of stress, illness, or caregiving—shapes how we experience the moment and the meaning we make of it. This session provides a narrative medicine and mindfulness approach to understanding and cultivating self-compassion for people experiencing cancer and those caring for them.
We will explore how self-talk, self-compassion, and the personal stories we carry can either support or strain our inner well-being. Through gentle mindfulness practices and reflective writing prompts, we’ll learn how to listen more closely to our inner voice, soften its tone, and begin to tell ourselves a kinder, more compassionate story.
