Navigating Cancer – Empowerment through Challenges, Acceptance, and Control

Jonathan Avery, PhD, is a Researcher at Anew Research Collaborative: Reshaping Young Adult Cancer CareRoyal Roads University & Research Associate, Department of Supportive Care, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (UHN, Toronto).

In this webinar, we explore the concept of empowerment from the perspective of a group of cancer survivors who were interviewed to gain their insights and experiences. These stories helped shape an empowerment model that can help those impacted by cancer develop practical strategies for managing both the physical and emotional aspects of cancer, focusing on how those impacted can find balance between what one feels they can or cannot control.
