Ways to Give

You can change lives

Your generosity opens doors and improves the lives of those living with cancer, ensuring:

  • people have the skills and resources they need to address their emotional, practical and physical needs – so they can live better with cancer
  • the ever-increasing volume of members and their changing needs for supportive cancer care can be met
  • new programs can be developed that fill current gaps in the care of cancer patients

There are so many ways to make a difference in people’s lives today.

Wellspring was both life-changing and life-saving for me … I learned how amazingly beneficial it is to share your concerns, worries, hopes and to get help from others. I’ve now been able to get physical help, mental support and help getting back to my work. I’m no longer just coping, I’m thriving.”

Are you passionate about giving back and are committed to helping others? Whether you have experienced your own cancer journey, have been a caregiver to someone with cancer or are someone who has professional skills to share, Wellspring would welcome a conversation about your interests.

Other ways to give

We rely solely on the community for funding so we can offer programs and services free of charge to our members. By joining an event, sponsoring someone who is participating in an event, or creating your own fundraiser, you are helping Wellspring make a difference in the lives of those living with cancer.

A bequest or gift by will is a simple and thoughtful way to leave a personal legacy, representing your life and values.

Gifts of securities or shares from your investments can provide you with benefits such as income tax savings, while also making a positive impact in your community.

Donor advised funds (DAF) allow individuals or organizations to create a special account to manage their charitable donations. Philanthropists like you open an account and make tax-deductible contributions to a DAF. You then recommend grants from the DAF to the charities of your choice. The DAF sponsor, generally a nonprofit financial institution, handles all the administrative details, and you can remain completely anonymous if you wish. Your DAF then issues a tax receipt with your deposit.

Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, bar and bat mitvahs, reunions, festivals, parties, and many special events may call for a charitable gift registry of sorts. There are several ways to support the Wellspring on your special occasion.
  • Request donations in lieu of gifts
  • Make donations in lieu of party favors
  • Set up a Facebook fundraiser, selecting Wellspring from the list of charities

The impact of your gift

Wellspring programs positively affect communities by directly improving the quality of life for people living with cancer, their caregivers and their families. Your gift will help us to:

  • reduce the isolation often experienced by people living with cancer through a warm and supportive community
  • provide support to important unpaid family caregivers
  • address the short and long-term mental health concerns experienced by some when diagnosed with a life-threatening illness
  • provide supports to assist in returning to work
  • provide a comprehensive range of evidence-informed programs led by experienced professionals
  • meet our mission to provide vital, essential services in a highly cost-effective manner, while reducing the burden on the healthcare system and preserving scarce healthcare resources
How wellspring Help

You can make a difference

Wellspring does not receive core government or hospital funding. Instead, we rely on the generosity of the community and people like you to help people live better with cancer.

Your generosity reopens doors and improves the lives of people living with cancer and those who love and care for them.

Thank you for considering Wellspring.
