Cancer Support Program Leader, Independent Contractor

Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is seeking an experienced independent contractor to facilitate cancer support groups and lead The Healing Journey, a multi-level psycho-educational supportive cancer care program. Access to self-paced Healing Journey program training will be provided. There are in person (Toronto), online, and hybrid opportunities available.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant health field (e.g., psychology, social work, nursing)
• Be a member in good standing with the organization
• Experience with the facilitation of groups for people living with serious illness
• Demonstrated understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families
• Fluency in English with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Very good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Administrative proficiency and organizational skills

Fees

 Fees are paid on a per-program basis, at the equivalent of $77-$102/hour depending on the specific program being led. Program sessions normally range in length from 1 to 2 hours and may be stand alone or part of a series.
