Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is proud to announce that we have been selected as a host partner organization in 2026 for the Saltire Scholar Internship Programme, a global internship program delivered through Saltire Foundation Canada in collaboration with Entrepreneurial Scotland. This is the first time a Canadian charity has participated in the program.
Founded in 2014, Entrepreneurial Scotland works to build the world’s most entrepreneurial society by connecting global talent with high-impact organizations. Through the Saltire Scholar program, talented students in their penultimate and final year of studies across all 16 Scottish universities are selected to complete fully funded, 10–12-week internships with leading companies and charities around the world.
Wellspring was selected based on our entrepreneurial approach, national reach, and track record of delivering innovative, evidence-based supportive cancer programs. As part of this partnership, a Scottish university student will join Wellspring’s experts in summer 2026 to support a national analysis of Wellspring’s group-based supportive cancer programs—a cornerstone of our service model.
The Scholar will:
- Review program models and delivery methods
- Collect and analyze participant and leader insights
- Examine effectiveness, accessibility, and equity
- Benchmark Wellspring’s offerings against national and international best practices
- Provide actionable recommendations to help strengthen and expand group-based supportive care across Canada
This work will directly support Wellspring’s mission to help people live better with cancer and will guide future innovation and service delivery for thousands of individuals and families.
Saltire Foundation Canada will cover all internship costs and provide mentorship and ongoing support to ensure the student is set up for success.
We are honoured to collaborate with Saltire Foundation Canada and look forward to welcoming an exceptional Saltire Scholar to our team. Together, we will build new insights, deepen impact, and help shape the future of supportive cancer care in Canada.
