Welcome Amanda Smart, Our New Chief Mission Officer

July 9, 2025

We are very pleased to announce that Amanda Smart is joining Wellspring as our new Chief Mission Officer, starting July 14.

Amanda brings a deep commitment to person-centered care and a strong background in oncology, rehabilitation, and health leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, an Honours Bachelor in Kinesiology, and a Masters Certificate in Healthcare Management. Her professional journey includes:

  • 4 years as Operations Manager for SE Health at Mackenzie Health where she managed over 130 physiotherapists, physiotherapy residents, occupational therapists, therapy assistants, kinesiologists and administrative staff across multiple sites.
  • 7 years as Director of Practice, Policy, and Member Services at the Ontario Physiotherapy Association
  • 8 years as a Physiotherapist with the General Surgery & Breast Cancer Program at Sunnybrook and the Odette Cancer Centre
  • She is even a certified yoga instructor and volunteer for the upcoming Special Olympics Ontario

Amanda is no stranger to Wellspring — in fact, she was one of our independent Cancer Exercise leaders back in 2009. We are thrilled to welcome her back in this senior leadership role, where she will help guide our mission delivery across all centres and platforms.

Please join us in extending a warm Wellspring welcome to Amanda as she prepares to step into this important role.
