Program Manager – Registered Kinesiologist or Exercise Physiologist

Wellspring is seeking an experienced registered kinesiologist or exercise physiologist to manage a portfolio of evidence-based physical and functional programs for cancer patients and their families.

The Program Manager will provide strategic and logistical support, as well as leadership for programs, primarily: Cancer Exercise, Cancer Related Fatigue, Yoga and Meditation, Breathing Wellness, and the development of Be Well Talks and community-based workshops.

This position is based in Toronto, at 105 Wellness Way, on the campus of Sunnybrook Hospital. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work two days remotely most weeks, if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the program portfolio
  • Annual planning in conjunction with the Wellspring Strategic Plan
  • Enhancement of existing programs and development of new and/or collaborative programming where funding and needs exist
  • Direct leadership of Cancer Exercise and related programs when required
  • Management of independent contractor relationships with professional program leaders, including recruitment, orientation and quality assurance
  • Coordination, supervision, training and engagement of program leaders and volunteers
  • Quality assurance and risk management for each program
  • Monitoring of program equipment
  • Participation in the Wellspring culture of philanthropy

Required Qualifications

  • University degree in kinesiology or exercise physiology and relevant professional registration
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with people living with serious illness
  • Demonstrated skill in program planning
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organized, with very good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook (Salesforce an asset)
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Understanding of the impact of cancer on individuals and families
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Mature, professional demeanor
  • Ability to travel between Wellspring locations on occasion (Oakville and Toronto)
