Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation is delighted to welcome Brenda Delodder as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 13, 2026.
A nationally recognized non-profit leader and healthcare advocate, Brenda brings a powerful combination of strategic leadership, policy expertise, and community impact. She joins Wellspring at a pivotal moment, as the organization expands its reach to meet growing demand for cancer support across Canada.
“Brenda is an exceptional leader who understands both the human and systemic dimensions of healthcare,” said Matt Barasch, Chair of Wellspring’s Board of Directors. “Her experience, values, and vision align deeply with Wellspring’s mission. We are confident she will build on Christina Smith’s legacy and lead Wellspring into its next chapter of impact.”
Most recently, Brenda served as CEO of the Canadian Spondyloarthritis Association, strengthening national programs and partnerships to better support people living with chronic illness. Previously, she led Food for Life – recognized among Canada’s top 10 charities for social return on impact – and the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation, advancing research, education, and community care nationwide.
Throughout her career, Brenda has shaped national and provincial policy initiatives in healthcare and social systems, advocating for improved access, equity, and quality of care. During her tenure with United Way, she was recognized as one of Canada’s top 10 women leaders for her leadership in COVID-19 emergency response and recovery efforts.
We are deeply grateful to Christina Smith for her extraordinary leadership and the strong foundation she has built for Wellspring. Christina will remain with the organization through the end of April to support a smooth transition.
