Overview

Wellspring London & Region is part of a Canada-wide network of community-based charities providing programs and services at no charge and without a referral to individuals and families affected by cancer. Operating from our regional centres in London and Stratford, Wellspring ensures that no one has to face cancer alone by helping individuals and families cope with the emotional, physical, and practical challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

Wellspring London & Region is actively seeking new Volunteer Board Members to help advance the work of our organization. The Board of Directors oversees the governance, financial sustainability, and strategic plan for both the London and Stratford physical centres. The Board currently meets 10 times per year through video conferencing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Approve and monitor long-term strategic plans to guide regional operations.
• Fiduciary Duty: Oversee the organization’s budget, financial health, and donor-funded asset allocation.
• Ambassadorship: Act as a primary champion and advocate for Wellspring across Southwestern Ontario.
• Committee Service: Join and support sub-committees such as Governance, Finance, or Fundraising.

Desired Professional Expertise

Wellspring is looking for dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds and can bring a wide range of skills such as:

• Financial Oversight (CPAs or corporate finance experience)
• Legal & Risk Management
• Fundraising & Philanthropy Strategy
• Healthcare Administration or Community Healthcare Networks
• Strategic Planning & Executive Leadership
