Privacy Policy
Wellspring respects and protects the privacy of its members, volunteers, program leaders, staff and committee members. As part of our commitment to you, we want to clarify why we may ask for your personal information (e.g. name, address, phone number, email, history of illness and treatment).
We collect personal information in order to welcome you as members, provide access to the newsletter and other mailings, and to facilitate ongoing communication and service. The information is gathered in order to keep program statistics, to contact you about cancelled programs, waiting lists or new programs, and in order to be accountable to those who support our work.
All personal information is subject to security measures that include locked cabinets, password access to onsite computers, extremely limited access to the database by staff only, alarm systems and restricted access to offices. Furthermore, we maintain records utilizing personal codes and all statistics used in creating reports are aggregated and anonymous. We do not divulge information to other organizations or people who might wish access to our membership for the purposes of self or product promotion under any circumstances. On occasion there are requests to undertake research projects with Wellspring members, but these must be properly vetted and have ethics approval before we will post information about participation in such projects; we will not give out members names or contact information without their express consent being obtained in advance.
We will honour any request you may have to access or review the personal information that you have given to Wellspring in the course of your membership.
