Yes, Wellspring’s Oasis Support Circle is designed specifically for individuals navigating the emotional and physical realities of advanced or metastatic cancer, including fear, uncertainty, treatment side effects, and end-of-life planning. It is an unstructured, open-forum group led by seasoned healthcare professionals who bring deep experience working with people at this stage of the cancer journey. Before your first session, the group facilitator personally reaches out by phone to introduce themselves, walk you through what to expect, and answer any questions — so you never walk in cold. New participants are welcome to join at any point in the series.

Wellspring’s Chronic Cancer Coaching program pairs you privately with a specially trained volunteer coach for six virtual sessions over two months — at no cost to you. Your coach works with you to identify your three biggest concerns across physical, emotional, and practical areas, then helps you build a personalized, self-managed action plan to address them. Participants consistently report feeling better equipped to handle uncertainty, move through difficult emotions, and regain a sense of agency in their lives. This program is built around your specific circumstances and goals.

Wellspring’s Living with Chronic Cancer Support Group is an online, professionally facilitated support group that meets weekly or bi-weekly, and is specifically designed for people living with an incurable cancer diagnosis. One of its most valued features is its flexible, open registration model — there is no minimum attendance requirement, no commitment to show up every week, and you can join or re-join at any point that feels right for you. Each 90-minute session opens and closes with a centering or meditation exercise, and discussions cover real challenges like long-term treatment, “watch and wait” periods, clinical trials, and managing uncertainty. Research shows that this type of group support is linked to reduced anxiety and depression, improved sleep, better treatment compliance, and stronger peer connections.

The Oasis Parents’ Support Group was created for exactly this situation — because parenting while managing an advanced cancer diagnosis carries its own profound emotional weight that general support groups don’t always address. Held twice a month in 90-minute sessions, this professionally facilitated group creates a safe, open space to talk honestly about the challenges of parenting with a terminal diagnosis, including how to have developmentally appropriate conversations with your children and how to intentionally create legacy-building moments with your family. Participants gain coping skills, practical resources, peer support from other parents who truly understand, and guidance grounded in research on the unique needs of families facing advanced cancer. You can register at any point in the series — there is no need to wait for a new cycle to begin.

Wellspring offers two distinct streams of support for people living beyond an initial cancer diagnosis, and the right fit depends on where you are in your journey. Chronic Cancer programs — including one-on-one Coaching and the Living with Chronic Cancer Support Group — are designed for those managing an ongoing, incurable cancer diagnosis over the long term. Oasis programs, including the Oasis Support Circle and the Oasis Parents’ Support Group, are tailored specifically to people living with advanced or metastatic cancer, addressing the deeper uncertainty, fear, and end-of-life realities that come with that stage. Both streams are professionally supported, evidence-informed, and offered at no cost.

Yes, and the evidence is substantial. Multiple peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated that professionally facilitated cancer support groups lead to measurable improvements in quality of life, reduced anxiety and depression, better sleep, stronger coping strategies, and in some cases improved immune function and treatment compliance. Wellspring’s programs — including the Living with Chronic Cancer Support Group and the Oasis Support Circle — are built on this research foundation and guided by trained healthcare professionals with specialized experience in oncology and psychosocial support. Beyond the clinical outcomes, participants frequently describe the human connection within these groups as something they didn’t expect to need and couldn’t imagine living without. The programs are free, online, and open to new participants on a rolling basis. Visit the Wellspring program portal to read more about the research behind each program.
