TORONTO, ON: On March 26, attendees of the Well Dressed for Spring fashion show in Yorkville Village, Toronto collectively raised over $425,000 for Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
Wellspring’s CEO, Christina Smith says, “This incredible result is a testament to the generosity and compassion of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, members, and of course, our amazing models, whose courage and spirit lit up the runway and inspired everyone in the room.”
Hosted by Canadian fashion icon Jeanne Beker, Well Dressed for Spring is an annual high-fashion event, which celebrated it’s eleventh anniversary.
Presented by RBC Wealth Management, the evening featured models who had been touched by cancer, either having been diagnosed themselves or as a caregiver to someone with cancer. The models walked the “Walk of Hope” catwalk in the latest spring fashion collections, while their cancer journey was shared with attendees.
“Hearing the personal stories of those who’ve faced cancer – whether as a patient or a caregiver – was deeply moving,” says Christina. “Many of our models are Wellspring members who wanted to give back after receiving support during their own cancer journey. Together, they raised over $119,000, which is an outstanding accomplishment. This event also gives our supporters a chance to witness first-hand the life-changing impact their generosity makes.”
“Well Dressed for Spring is more than a fashion show; it’s a celebration of hope and resilience,” says Christina Smith. “The funds raised tonight ensure Wellspring can continue providing evidence-based programs and services free-of-charge to people living with cancer. Thanks to events like this, we’re able to make a real difference – helping people live better with cancer.”
