OAKVILLE, ON: Last night, attendees of the 16th annual Nine, Wine, and Dine golf tournament, hosted at the Oakville Golf Club, collectively raised $347,000 for Wellspring Cancer Support Foundation.
Wellspring’s CEO, Christina Smith, says, “We’re so grateful to everyone who came out and supported this year’s tournament. Every swing and every donation helps make a real difference for people living with cancer. Thanks to our incredible sponsors, donors and volunteers, we can continue providing the care and programs that families in our community count on.”
Hosted by auctioneer Don Stewart, the tournament featured an afternoon on the course followed by a dinner reception in support of Wellspring’s Birmingham Gilgan House in Oakville. This support centre also celebrates its 25th anniversary of serving the community.
“I tell people all the time to get to Wellspring,” says Ann Mulvale, former mayor of Oakville and Wellspring supporter, “It’s important to keep their services going. Life is about what you can do for others, and in doing for others you’ll have enrichment in your journey beyond comprehension.”
“Nine, Wine and Dine is more than a golf tournament; it’s a celebration of perseverance,” says Christina Smith. “The funds raised tonight ensure Wellspring can continue providing evidence-based programs and services free of charge to people living with cancer. Thanks to events like this, we’re able to support people who are going through one of the most difficult challenges they will ever face.”
