Wellspring is a dynamic, community-based organization making real changes in the lives of individuals and families living with cancer. Wellspring provides a comprehensive range of professionally led support, coping skills and health-restoring programs for people living with cancer free of charge.

Wellspring is currently seeking Physiotherapists, Registered Kinesiologists to be leaders for the following Wellspring programs:

  • Cancer Exercise
  • Breathing Wellness
  • Cancer Related Fatigue (CRF)

Wellspring is also currently seeking Physiotherapist Assistants and Recreational Therapists to be leaders for the following Wellspring program:

  • Cancer Exercise

This is an independent, fee-for-service contract. We offer competitive rates based on experience and level of expertise. Opportunities are available for online program leadership and for programs that take place at our Toronto and Oakville centres and online. Successful candidates receive the appropriate orientation to be able to deliver these evidence-based programs.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the program, but could include assessments of new members, leading a group (in person and online), documentation, recording attendance, providing direction to program volunteers, adhering to policies and procedures outlined in the Wellspring Program Leader Guide.

Required Qualifications

  • A graduate of a recognized Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Recreational Therapy or Physiotherapist Assistant post-secondary institution program
  • Be a health professional from a relevant discipline (e.g., Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, physiotherapist assistant, recreational therapist), a member in good standing with the College that regulates the profession (e.g., Ontario College of Physiotherapists) or a member of the relevant association for unregulated health care professionals (e.g. recreational therapists, physiotherapist assistants), and provide to Wellspring a copy of the registration and professional liability insurance
  • Prior experience working with populations with serious health issues, conditions, or disease
  • Certification in health care professional level CPR, AED and First Aid Training
  • Knowledge of oncology an asset
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Mature, professional demeanor
